Rebecca, of Lost In Books, hosts The Book List meme and recently asked us to list the books that intimidate us. Piece of cake for me. While these are all books I probably should read, the only one I'm even remotely considering is The Canterbury Tales for The Gilmore Girls challenge. But I'll bet I'll find something to substitute for it!

Book List Meme -- What Books Are You Intimidated By?
Rebecca, of Lost In Books, hosts The Book List meme and recently asked us to list the books that intimidate us. Piece of cake for me. The Book List Meme - March 25th

This week's Book List Meme, hosted by Rebecca at Lost in Books, is maybe the easiest one ever for me. Rebecca wants to know 3 books that you loved as a child (under age 12). Two of these will come as no surprise to anyone that's ever read this blog. The third one was kind of a toss up between a few books but I thought I'd spring something new on you for my third pick.

The Book List Meme - March 17th
This week's Book List Meme, hosted by Rebecca of Lost in Books, ask you to take a trip down memory lane. Rebecca's looking for three books that take you back to high school. To be honest, I really can't remember what I read in high school--it was such a long time ago! But these three were probably read at about that time. I swear I also read some classics!
Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express." I read quite a few Agatha Christie books between junior high and high school. I really did prefer Miss Marple.
Stephen King's "Carrie." High school was the start of my many year love affair with Stephen King's books.
Colleen McCullough's "The Thorn Birds." I think even then I thought there were some creepy things about this book but I loved it anyway.
What books take you back to high school?

The Book List Meme - March 4
The week's The Book List Meme, hosted by Rebecca at Lost in Books, is asking for the three best/worst sidekicks for a hero.
Dr. Watson of the Sherlock Holmes books is perhaps the most helpful of all sidekicks. Really, would Holmes even have thought of those answers if Watson hadn't been asking the right questions?
Ok, so maybe Fagin isn't really a hero, but I can't help but like the old guy. Granted he took horrible advantage of all of those orphan boys. Still, he did give them a place to live and food to eat and he really did care about them. But he would have been nothing if not for The Artful Dodger.
Speaking of heroes who would be nothing without their sidekick, Stephanie Plum needs a whole battery of sidekicks--Ranger, Joe Morelli, Lula and even Grandma Mazur who was my personal favorite.Who would you pick as the best or worse sidekick?

The Book List Meme - February 24
This week's Book List Meme, hosted by Rebecca of Lost in Books, asks for three books that should be made into movies. As hard as last week's was for me, this one was a piece of cake.
1. The Birth House by Canadian author Ami McKay (one of my book clubs favorite reads last year)
2. People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks--this one would have to be done very carefully so as not to overlook any of the great historical pieces.
3. Water for Elephants by Sara GruenI would also include Jennie Nash's The Last Beach Bungalow. I wish there was some way to do Bel Canto by Ann Patchett but I think there's just too much there to do it justice.

The Book List Meme - February 18
The Book List Meme, brought to us by Rebecca of Lost In Books, asks this week for three books that make me long for warmer weather. I figured that I could wrap this one up quickly enough. Turns out that I don't really read "beach" reads so there really weren't quick choices. But I do tend to steer away from the heavier fare--both literally and figuratively. These are the kinds of things that make me think of summer reading:
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The Last Beach Bungalow by Jennie Nash
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason by Helen Fielding

The Book List Meme - February 3
The Book List Meme is brought to us by Rebecca of Lost in Books. This week's topic is 3 Books I Read When I Need A Good Cry. I'm not really one to cry when I read, but these three certainly did me in.How could you not cry when the Nazi's make a mother choose between her two children? And then the suicides? C'mon! William Styron's "Sophie's Choice" is bound to make you shed at least a tear or two.
Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women" is one of my favorite books. I read it to my daughter not too long ago and found I still got a lump in my throat when Beth died.
Since I just told you about Norma Klein's "Sunshine" a couple of weeks ago, I know you understand why I cried when I read about a young mother dying.

The Book List Meme
The Book List meme is a new meme brought to us by Rebecca of Lost in Books. The way you do the meme is simple:- There is a different topic each week, which will be posted here.
- You write a post on your own blog about the topic.
- The post will be a list of 3 books pertaining to the topic. So, for example, if the topic were, say, 3 Books That Make You Want to Go Shopping, you would write a list of 3 books that when you read them made you want to max out your credit card. I have no idea what those books would be, but you get the picture.
- You may include photos with your lists, especially if that helps illustrate your point.
- You link back to the week's post here on Lost in Books in your post so if someone else wants to play, they can find their way here.
- Then you come here and leave your link in the Mr. Linky so other people can find your post and your list!
